Overview

Reaper is a slap-costing glove, added on August 1, 2021, costing 3,500. Visually, the glove's texture is a black base with the Grim Reaper plastered on the palm of the glove.

Ability

The passive ability "Time's Up" triggers a low-pitched laugh and creates a 25-second timer above the opponent’s head upon slapping them, darkening their screen with a black tint filter and making their vision monochrome.

While affected, the background music stops, and a monochrome chain connects the victim to the user, which only the victim can see. If the timer reaches zero, the victim will instantly die, granting the user a kill. The user can also be granted a kill if the victim dies by any other means while affected by the passive, but not if they fall into the void. The 25 second timer decreases by 1 second for each kill the user gets, and it caps at 4 seconds (20 kills). There are four sequential phases shown below that occur when the user reaches a number of kills. Getting kills gives the user a black foggy aura. Reaching a new phase increases the user's walkspeed.

Note: Kill farming your friends or alts is not recommended unless done in a private server, as it is against Slap Battles' guidelines, and it could get your slaps reset and/or get you banned.

Special Interactions

• Rocky's ability and Jester's diamond card ability can turn players into a Diamond rock and will remove the Reaper timer. If the Reaper user gets rocked, everyone with the timer will be cured.
• Pocket can be entered to survive the Reaper timer, too.
• Reverse, if slapped during ability, will backfire the effect of Reaper, and the screen color tint effect will invert.
• Using El gato's ability while the Reaper timer is active will remove the timer.

Upon gaining a kill, the Reaper user will gain a song and a short, black aura surrounding their character. Every kill gained will add more depth to the aura. When 1 kill is obtained, the countdown will go from 25 to 24 seconds, enabling the Reaper to kill others quickly.

Phase 2 (4-8 Kills)

Upon entering this phase, the user gains an outstanding aura, a spinning red sigil behind them, new music, and a slight speed boost of 25 walkspeed, enabling them to outrun others more easily. The Time's Up ability will still decrease by 1 second for every kill obtained.

Phase 3 (9-18 Kills)

Upon achieving this phase, the user will gain another aura, a pair of black wings behind you, and the speed will be buffed further to around 30 walkspeed, around the same speed as Killstreak at phase 2.

Upon reaching this phase for the first time, the Harbinger of Death badge is awarded. Once reaching this phase, the Reaper user will become immune to God's Hand's infamous Time-Stop.

Phase 4 (19+ Kills)

Phase 4 changes the reaper user's appearance again, and an animated red fast-tick clock in Roman numerals replaces the star symbol of Phase 3. The ability timer is reduced to 6 seconds, and the players speed will be buffed to 40 walkspeed and have a new song. When entering this phase, everybody's screen will be obscured by a black color, slowly fading over around 5 seconds. The timer passive cooldown is now capped at 4 seconds only.

Upon reaching this phase for the first time, the Memento Mori badge will be awarded.

Products

There is a developer product that appears when using Reaper. It is located above the slap count. It appears to be a crimson button that reads "+5 kills"

The "+5 kills" product can be purchased for 17. When bought it instantly gives the Reaper user 5 kills. With 68, you can buy enough kills to get to phase 4.

Strategies

• Try to avoid one-shot gloves since they kill you in one hit.
• Go for newer players, as they will be easier to kill and may attempt to attack you instead of jumping off.
• If there is a God's Hand user, you can try to kill them before they can activate their ability or run away as far away to the point the God's Hand user can't reach you before the Timestop ends. If you hit phases 3 or 4, you can go back to avoiding them since you are no longer affected by Timestop. You can also slap them during their ability animation.
• You can attempt to slap players with weaker gloves toward the center of the map if they try to jump off to avoid adding to your streak. But, to pull this off, it must be very situational and is usually challenging.
• Avoid going for any player mysteriously standing near the edges of the map since they can bait you into falling/getting slapped to the void.
  • Usually, Swapper and Shukuchi users do this.
• Do not try to throw your opponents off the island, as this will not add to your streak.
• Be on high alert if you see someone using gloves that can easily kill like Reverse, Counter, bob, Track, Jet, Tableflip, Ping Pong, and bus, as their abilities have instantaneous effects that cannot be foreseen.
• Try to dodge Rocky's boulder and avoid Jester's ability because getting hit by the boulder and diamond's card ability will remove your timer from all of your opponents. If you see a Rocky and Jester user, putting distance between you and them is a good idea as you will be able to dodge their abilities.
• Never overestimate yourself by slapping too many people, as all of them will be targeting you, potentially causing you to die.
• This glove is highly targeted due to its annoying playstyle, so always alert for threats.
• Try to team up with a Guardian Angel, as its ability can allow you to survive dangerous situations.
• You can team with a one-shot like Error or OVERKILL to get kills faster, and you can work with a God's Hand once you get enough kills to slap people who are frozen during the time stop.
• Once you get a high streak, it becomes insanely difficult to get another streak if you die, as players will try everything in their power to prevent you from becoming overpowered again.

Pros and Cons

Pros

• Decent power and speed.
• Kill time decreases by one with each kill, maxing out at 6 seconds.
• Gets stronger over time with a speed buff.
• Immune to God's Hand Timestop after reaching phase 3 (9 kills).
• You are immune to Druid's vines.
• Immune to Snow passive, Thor ability, and other abilities that slow you down.
• Timers on players will still be counting down during God's Hand Timestop.
• If the affected player is killed in any way besides falling into the void, the user will still gain a kill.
• The affected players are forced to a monochrome background or a nearly pitch-black background on Halloween (this can also make it harder to differentiate which glove is which).
• If the victim has another screen tint in play or screen effect, it will be hard for them to see properly, for example Confusion, bob, rob, and Nightmare.
• Guardian Angel can help the Reaper user when targeted.
  • The Guardian Angel user may be targeted and killed by other users.
• Players can reset to give the Reaper kills faster.
• Due to the increasing speed, you can juggle and perform combos relatively easily once you get enough kills.
• The glove can practically one-shot players as, if you manage to stay away from the people you hit, they will either jump off the map or die/reset.
• Great for camping islands, as players have no choice but to die if you slap them and camp.
• If you hit a lot of players at once with the ability, they will likely all try to target you; however, they may slap or attack each other to reach you.
• New players will have more trouble understanding what to do under the effects of the Reaper.
• Incredible synergy MEGAROCK and CUSTOM, as well as one shots like Error, OVERKILL and The Flex.
  • Same with God's Hand once you get enough kills, as you can move around and slap frozen players by the time-stop ability.
  • Slapping players while the time-stop ability is occurring will apply the Reaper effect.

Cons

• Incredibly targeted glove. Many players will try to kill you, including one-shot gloves.
• Victims will have a link connecting them to the user, allowing them to tell which player to target.
• Players can deliberately jump into the void before the timer ends to die and do not give the kill for the reaper. Reaper users can try to keep their victims on the island by slapping them before they jump, but this is hardly effective.
• Unlike Killstreak, this glove's higher phases do not have a long-range ability, meaning users have to get close to players to kill them even if they have a deadly passive.
• Za Hando can be a threat if the user knows how to pull and flick people off the map.
• Speedrun can get linked by a Link, then the Speedrun will run towards the Reaper user and slap them, then the Link user can jump off the map, killing the Reaper user.
• el gato can remove the effects of the ability.
• Rocky can cancel Reaper's Time's Up ability from everybody by hitting the Reaper user with the roller.
• You gain an outline after getting kills, meaning you can't hide from players hunting you down.

Trivia

• The Roblox ID for the new Reaper music is 12515967206.
  • The version of RAGE NO. 2 used in the game is the Extended Version. This is the non-extended version.
• This is the first glove that kills a player without needing to knock them off while not instantly killing either when they're slapped. The others are potato, [REDACTED], Plague, and Zombie.
• If under the effects of Reaper's ability and Timestop, the colors will invert themselves.
• As this glove can change its movement speed, it isn't affected by gloves that can give the Snow and electric slowness debuff on players, all of them being Snow, Shard, Snowball, and Thor.
• Originally, Phase 3's death timer could be brought down to 1 second, but this was nerfed to 10 seconds for balancing purposes.
• This glove is banned from the No One-Shots arena.
• There is a glitch where the user's aura and music can be carried over to a slap competition.
• The "Memento Mori" badge is Latin for "Remember, you must die."
  • This can also mean "Remember Death."
• Users can gain kills from Baller's entity as of November 9, 2022. However, it is recommended not to do this, as this may be considered kill farming, which is against the rules.
• There used to be an obscure bug that made the player's screen turn black and white after the Reaper died. Getting hit by another Reaper will make the screen flashy pink with all other colors distorted.
• The Link connecting the user and a player under the effect is red, similar to Link's passive. This can be briefly spotted if an Error user slaps the Reaper user, but it will soon vanish as the Reaper dies.
• A rare glitch can occur when a Reaper user slaps another player, where the red connecting line will not appear. Killing the Reaper user will not remove the timer, resulting in a guaranteed death.
• There is a glitch if you use Recall while under the timer, all colors return slightly to normal.
• This glove has the third longest tooltip, behind Engineer and El gato.
• Killstreak users can share kills with Reaper users as long as the Killstreak user slaps the marked player right before the marked player dies.
• Currently, an exploit gives every Reaper user 20 kills upon slapping that exploiter.
  • This likely will get patched eventually.
• The sound effect for When You Die to Reaper comes in the Intro of the song by AC/DC called Hells Bells. The bells are slowed down. scary bell tolling - sound effect
• This and MEGAROCK are the only gloves with a speed of 13.
• There is an admin button for Reaper. It gives 1 kill per click.
